Imagine being a Wheaton student that was highly interested in music 20 years ago, in 1988. Just like today, if you wanted to go to a concert, chances were you would have to go to Boston or Providence. If you wanted to listen to your own music, however, it was much harder.

Simply stated: Iron & Wine has a voice that puts the angels to shame. In a genre dominated by blaring rock and fast-paced rap, his lullabaic melodies are a refreshing departure from the ordinary. Iron & Wine, whose real name is Sam Beam, recently displayed his talents at Lupo's Heartbreak Hotel and left the audience singing his praises.
