Swimming in the Shallows offers comedic relief to tough issues

A play on the contemporary views of relationships, Swimming in the Shallows exceeded the audience's expectations and was met with roars of laughter during last Thursday's opening night performance on Nov.

Spike Jonze's "big-break" came in 1992 when he was chosen to direct the skateboarding footage in the music video for "100%," the first single from Sonic Youth's album Dirty. He quickly formed a relationship with the band who were regarded as underground tastemakers and recognized his great talent.
