The Office of Health and Wellness is offering a free smoking cessation program to Wheaton student, called Freshstart, after winter break. The program will take place Wednesdays, Feb. 3, 10, 17, and 24 from 5 to 6 p.m. in Chase Round. The classes are being offered in Chase because it provides all students with easy access to information and makes it so students do not have to go out of their way.
The Wheaton Times and The Bubble Magazine, two online publications that began this year, join the various outlets on campus where students can voice their opinions and publish their creative work as well as keep up with current campus news. Other publications include the Wesendonk, Rushlight Magazine, and The Wheaton Wire.

The failing economy has taken its toll on Wheaton over the past few years in many ways. One area where cuts were made was in the funding of clubs and groups on campus. The staff of the Wheaton yearbook, "Nike," has experienced significant budget cuts over the past two or three years.
Wheaton students will have the opportunity to take the Personal training certification tests on campus during the Spring semester. The test, hosted by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), will be open to Wheaton College students who register by Jan.
The New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) committee finished its visit to the Wheaton campus on Nov. 9, and the next day met with President Ronald Crutcher to tell him about their initial findings. "There were no surprises, [about the initial reports]" said Crutcher, who has no doubt that Wheaton will be reaccredited.
Amanda Knox, 22, an American student studying in Italy, was found guilty of murdering her British roommate, Meredith Kercher, 21, along with her ex-Italian boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito, 25. Knox was sentenced to 26 years in prison while Sollecito was sentenced to 25 years in prison.
