To beat our boredom, my favorite shopping buddy and I decided to liven up our Saturday with a run to Wrentham Premium Outlets, the shopping Mecca for the greater Boston area.
I first discovered the 170 store village the second week of my freshman year. But am I really saving money and finding deals?
The first stop: The Gap. I found lots of bargains, plus they had a "40% off select styles" sale. Plenty of lounge clothes were marked down, along with sweaters and pants.
I walked away with a pair of $5 leggings (perfect for layering), a black wool cap-esque sweater, and a ruffled cardigan. My total: an even $50. Needless to say, the Gap has our stamp of approval.
I have never bought anything from Polo full priced. They always are hosting a sale or a promotional deal along with the racks of marked down oxfords, polos, tees, and sweaters. This Saturday was no exception. My partner in crime's find was a classic cable knit sweater, $30 off the original price.
With full prices and a sale section full of leftover summer styles, don't even bother looking in J.Crew. My advice is to stick to shopping online or ordering from their catalogue.
As college students, we are always on a budget, yet we still want to look our best. If you can dedicate a few hours to searching for bargains, then Wrentham is well worth the trip.
