The Men's Swimming team boasts a combination of youth and experience.

After posting an 11-3 mark during the 2005-2006 season and then coming back the following year with a less than impressive 5-11 record, the Wheaton men's swimming and diving team with a team that is full of young talent will look to rebuild and compete, at the same time. Comprised of mostly freshmen, the team, led by fifth year coach Jean-Paul Gowdy, will look to compete strongly in the NEWMAC conference and once again solidify their place as a competitive and dynamic force. Referring to his two seniors on the team, Gowdy explained that they are very excited about seeing how far the freshmen can take them. "They're excited about the freshmen because that group has some talent and a lot of energy. I'm sure there will be some bumps along the way with such a young team, but in addition to the talent, what I like most about these guys is the excitement surrounding them."

NEWMAC All-Conference seniors Matt Jordan and Matt Hurley will lead the men's team in hope of reaching the NCAA Championship meet. Both seniors have experienced great success; Hurley owns seven records and Jordan owns four individual school records.

Despite not having captains or any members of the junior class, the potential of the team looks strong heading into the 2007-2008 season. Other returnees include John Ahern of Boxboro, MA, and Mike Koltz of Colombia, MD. So far this season, through a total of three swim meets, the Lyons have done reasonably well with a record of 2-1. Their two victories include a 182 to 49 win against Gordon and a 141-129 win against WPI. Their only loss came at the hands of an impressive opponent, Roger Williams, in which Wheaton lost 98 to 137. The Lyons next match, which will be held on Saturday, November 17th, will prove to be a tough test as they match up against rival Springfield.
