2011 holds high hopes for better communication and class unity

Unopposed incumbent senator candidate Tess Cunard '11 said that with her past experience as the class senator that she feels she can continue to accomplish the job but also said that she hopes the council could more effectively communicate with the class as a whole in the upcoming year.
Similarly incumbent secretary candidate Rebecca Fahlstrom '11 said that she "really want[s] to make our experience here at Wheaton the best it can be," and also stated that she would like to see the class of 2011 become more cohesive as a group.
Current class president Soloman Odame '11 ran his campaign on assurance and trust saying: "I would like us to foster a community of support a network where we can lean on each other… I would like the class of 2011 to lean on me."
Odame said that he feels that the class council is "open" and that he is "a very social person so who ever I meet I converse with. I feel like our class can spread the word of mouth about but what I really want to stress is the ability we have to listen to one another."
His opponent Gwen Crafts '11, said she considers one of the most important responsibilities of the class president is to "unite and promote pride among the class of 2011." She explained how as a member of the class of 2011 she often felt disconnected from the class council and that she would like to work to improve that for other members.
"I would like to keep us upfront and keep us meeting with people," said Crafts. "We can't disappear behind scenes."
The positions of class treasurer and vice president are currently vacant.
