Welcome back! I hope everyone is well-rested and ready to go after a long break! I certainly am. I also hope that our readers can notice some of the changes we've made to the Wire.
The biggest change is one that might not be noticable, but is very important to us. We just switched from using a computer program called Quark for our layout to InDesign: an Adobe product that is much more popular. We have literally recreated the entire paper from scratch, so please bear with us if there are any mistakes!
This also means that we're looking for more people to do layout with us. We hope that using a more user friendly program will mean that more people already know how to use it, or that it will be easier to teach. Of course we're always looking for more photographers and writers, but this semester I hope to make layout much more effective.
In addition, I want to hear from you, the readers! We want feedback on everything, from layout to quality of articles to new feature ideas. We will have suggestion boxes in Balfour with comment cards. We want to hear anything that you have to say about the Wire, positive or negative! We spend A LOT of time putting the paper together, so we want to make sure that we're writing what you want to see.
So let us know! The only way for us to know how you feel is if you tell us. So e-mail us, or talk to any of us in person. We hope to hear from you soon!
